Joonas Suotamo

Joonas Suotamo is a Finnish actor, best known for playing the iconic role of Chewbacca in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019), Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) and Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017). He also appeared as The Scourge in the Disney+ series Willow (2022-2023) and returned to the Star Wars universe as a different Wookie, Master Kelnacca in the Disney+ series The Acolyte (2024). Most recently he can be seen on the hit Netflix series Wednesday as another iconic character, Lurch (2025).
